Have you ever played roulette before? Well, you’d say it seems a quite tricky and straightforward casino game. After doing qualitative research, however, one will come to a resolution that the truth is relatively simple – playing a game of roulette is a simple and relaxing experience, most when compared to other casino table games such as craps or blackjack. Besides, the player will also find that there is no more than enough time right between different spins of the ball, making it easy for him/her to decide with what bets to play.
The sequence of the roulette game
- First, roulette players need to buy one or more stacks of coloured chips from the dealer. Every roulette player uses chips with unique colour, that way, theirs is no confusion about the player’s bet. All chips usually equal the roulette table minimum. Most times, it could range between 25 cents and $1, but the dealer could be asked a higher table minimum.
- Secondly, the players need to place one or multiple chips on a particular number.
- Thirdly, the dealer spins the roulette ball.
And finally, in case the ball comes to rest in a pocket with their number carefully placed on it, players benefit.
The player can place other types of bets as well – betting on adjacent numbers, on all the odd numbers as well as the red numbers. Almost all roulette bet can be placed against one as well as the same house percentage, to avoid scenarios where player complains, and concern arose that some of the roulette bets may appear more profitable to other casino players.
The value of each chip is dependent on the amount the player paid for a stack. In case the player plays more than the roulette’s table minimum, the casino dealer will usually place a lamer (a unique marker) on the rim of the wheel. The process ensures the dealer will be reminded of what the player’s chips are worth. Chips designed for the game can be bought with cash or with the regular casino chips, which the player purchased from the main cashier. When a player is done playing the game, the dealer will exchange remaining roulette chips for regular casino chips.
Notably, players cannot take off the coloured roulette chips from the roulette table. The chips cannot be used for any other purposes, while their value is made known only to the game dealer, from whom they purchased them. Sometimes, a player may participate in the roulette game with cash or with traditional casino chips.
The roulette table
The roulette table usually includes the betting layout as well as wheels as the betting layout is found at one end of the table. In Europe, for instance, it is not impossible to see the double-ended design, while the roulette wheel is located in the centre. A dealer, also known as a croupier in France, manages each of the betting layouts. In case a betting table is overcrowded, another dealer can be seen.
